Accessibility
We want everyone in the beauty industry to be able to learn on Maevi, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard, captions, zoom or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA on our website and in our app.
What we do
- Pages work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link.
- Buttons, icons and form fields have names a screen reader can announce.
- Text meets contrast guidelines, and the site works with browser zoom and larger text.
- Lesson videos get captions automatically, switched on by default.
- Nothing plays on its own, and the player works with a keyboard.
Known limits
Captions are generated automatically from the educator’s speech, so they can contain mistakes, especially with product names and technical terms. Classes are filmed by independent educators, and some techniques are shown more than described. If a class is hard to follow without sight or sound, tell us and we’ll work with the educator on it.
Tell us
If anything on Maevi is hard to use, email support@maeviedu.com with the page or class and what happened. We’ll reply within 2 business days and, where we can, give you another way to get what you need while we fix it.
