Maevi

Terms of Service

Welcome to Maevi. These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Maevi (“we,” “us”). By creating an account, buying a course, or publishing one, on our website or in our app, you agree to them.

1. Accounts

You must be at least 13 to use Maevi. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to buy a course, and you must be 18 or older to sell one. You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done under your account. One person, one account. Accounts can’t be shared, sold, or transferred.

2. Buying a course

When you buy a course, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to stream it through Maevi for your own education. It’s a one-time purchase with no subscription, and you can rewatch it as often as you like. You’re buying access to watch the course, not ownership of the videos or a copy of them.

Courses are streaming-only and can’t be downloaded. You may not record, copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly show them, or share your account so others can watch.

Maevi is the merchant of record: your payment is to us, and we pay the educator. Prices are in US dollars. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

3. How long your access lasts

You keep access to a course you’ve bought for as long as Maevi offers course streaming and your account is in good standing. In practice:

  • If the educator stops selling the course or leaves Maevi, you keep access to it.
  • Educators may update a course (re-film, reorder, add, or replace lessons) to keep it current. We don’t guarantee every lesson stays exactly as it was when you bought it.
  • We may remove a course or end your access if you break these terms, or if we have to, for example because of a valid copyright claim, a court order, or content that turns out to be unsafe or unlawful.
  • If we ever shut down Maevi or stop offering course streaming, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email and on the site so you have time to finish your courses. Access ends when the service does. We aren’t obligated to provide downloads or copies of course videos, and past purchases aren’t refunded because of a shutdown, except where the law requires it.

4. Selling courses (educators)

Educators must be verified before publishing. We review your identity and a professional license. You keep ownership of your content. You give Maevi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, stream, display, and promote it while it’s listed. That license continues for every student who has already bought it, even after you retire the course from sale or close your account, so that people who paid keep the access described in section 3.

You can retire a course from sale at any time. Once a course has students, you can update, re-film, rename, reorder, and add to its lessons, but you can’t remove lessons or delete the course. Contact us if something genuinely needs to come down, such as a safety or rights issue. Removing, emptying, or replacing sold content with something materially less than what students paid for violates these terms and may lead to recovered payouts and closure of your account.

You promise your content is your own work (or properly licensed), is accurate, follows the safety and licensing rules for beauty services, and doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights, including music and the likeness of anyone who appears in it, whose permission you need. You set your price within the platform’s allowed range.

5. Payments & payouts

Payments are processed by Stripe. Maevi keeps a platform fee and pays educators the remainder to a connected Stripe account after the 14-day refund window closes. If a sale is later refunded or disputed (a chargeback), we may cancel the pending payout or recover the educator’s share from their Stripe balance or future payouts. Educators are responsible for their own taxes; we and Stripe may collect tax information and issue tax forms where the law requires.

6. Content standards & moderation

No illegal, stolen, harmful, or misleading content. We can remove a course, suspend an account, or withhold a payout if content violates these terms or draws credible reports. Users can report courses; repeated or severe violations end in removal.

7. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on Maevi infringes your copyright, email support@maeviedu.com with: the work you own; a link to the content you believe infringes it; your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you’re the owner or authorized to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. We’ll review it promptly and remove infringing content. Educators whose content is repeatedly found to infringe will have their accounts closed.

8. Ending your account

You can stop using Maevi at any time and delete your account from Account settings, on the website or in the app. Deleting your account ends your access to courses you’ve bought. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, abuse refunds or chargebacks, or put other users at risk.

9. Disclaimers

Courses are educational and provided “as is.” Educators, not Maevi, are responsible for what they teach. We don’t guarantee specific results, and we aren’t responsible for how you apply what you learn: follow the safety, sanitation, and licensing rules for beauty services where you work, and only perform services you’re qualified and licensed to perform. We work to keep Maevi running but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Maevi isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

11. Changes & contact

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we’ll post it here and, where it affects you, let you know by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Maevi after that means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Email us at support@maeviedu.com.
